YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Do Any of These Chronic Pain Symptoms Sound Familiar?

You’ve been living with pain for months or even years

Every scan or test says everything looks “normal”, yet the pain remains

Simple activities leave you sore or exhausted

Pain is affecting your sleep, mood and relationships

You’ve tried different treatments with only temporary relief

You’re worried your pain is becoming your identity

You feel frustrated explaining your symptoms over and over again

You want someone to understand the whole picture, not just the painful area

Many people searching for a chronic pain specialist have already seen multiple practitioners. My role is to understand why your nervous system continues to experience pain and develop a personalised pathway towards recovery.

“If any of this sounds familiar, please know your pain is real. There is often far more contributing to chronic pain than the tissues themselves, and that’s exactly what we explore together.”

– Isabel Peace

Why Pain Can Continue Long After An Injury

Pain Is More Than Damaged Tissue

Pain is produced by the nervous system to protect you. While this response is essential after an injury, sometimes the nervous system remains overly protective long after tissues have healed.

The Nervous System Learns Pain

Ongoing stress, previous injuries, inflammation, hormonal changes, poor sleep and unresolved emotional experiences can all contribute to a nervous system that becomes increasingly sensitive.

Addressing The Whole Picture Completely

We look beyond the painful area to calm the nervous system, support the body and address underlying causes. Where appropriate, we also consider inflammation, nutrition, hormones, gut health and lifestyle factors.

The Integrative Approach

Why This Approach May Help

When Other Treatments Haven't

Chronic pain is rarely caused by one single factor. It often involves your nervous system, physical health, emotional wellbeing and lifestyle all interacting together. As a chronic pain therapist, I combine evidence-based therapies to support each of these areas rather than focusing on pain alone.

Calm the Body

Acupuncture helps regulate the nervous system, reduce muscle tension and support the body's natural pain-modulating pathways. Chinese herbal medicine addresses underlying imbalances that may be contributing to ongoing pain and inflammation.

Heal the Mind

EMDR and IFS therapy help address the emotional and neurological impact of living with persistent pain. For many people, reducing stress and processing unresolved experiences can significantly improve recovery.

Sustain the Change

Clinical nutrition, movement advice and lifestyle strategies support long-term healing. This integrative chronic pain management approach gives your body the best opportunity to recover while helping reduce future flare-ups.

Meaningful Change in Daily Life

WHAT WE MAY WORK TOWARDS

Every person responds differently. My role is not to promise a particular outcome, but to understand the different factors contributing to your pain and create a coordinated approach that supports meaningful change in your everyday life.

A reduced burden of pain

Every person responds differently. I help you understand the factors contributing to your pain and create a coordinated approach to support meaningful change in your everyday life.

Easier movement

As pain, protective guarding and fear of aggravation begin to ease, movement may feel safer and more manageable.

Greater understanding and confidence

Understanding the physical, emotional and lifestyle factors influencing your pain can reduce uncertainty and help you feel more confident in your body and your choices.

More energy and participation

When pain interferes less with sleep, movement and daily life, you may begin to experience more energy and greater enjoyment of the things that matter to you.

Your Practitioner

Meet Isabel Peace

For more than 25 years, I’ve worked with people whose lives have been interrupted by persistent pain, fatigue and complex health concerns. In my work with chronic and acute pain, I’ve seen that the experience is rarely limited to muscles or joints alone. It may involve a combination of physical, neurological, emotional and lifestyle factors.

Rather than separating these elements, I integrate acupuncture, Chinese medicine, EMDR, IFS therapy, and clinical nutrition into a single coordinated treatment approach. This can be particularly valuable when you have already seen several practitioners, or when scans and previous treatments have not fully explained or eased your pain.

My aim is to help you understand the broader pattern, reduce the burden of pain where possible, and work towards improved comfort, function and quality of life. Where necessary, this care can sit alongside your existing medical treatment and other health professionals.

I see clients in person on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, with selected therapy and clinical nutrition services also available online across Australia.
